PEACE silk means silk that is raised in a totally PEACEFUL manner. "For me this means "OrganicallY", of course, and with respect and Love. "Ahimsa" is the Indian (Hindi) word that means "non-violent". It is often used in the same way I use "Peace" silk. Note that "Ahimsa"(TM) is Bombyx mori, cultivated, Peace silk, while the term "Ahimsa" in general is also often applied to the various wild silks, such as Eri, Tussah and Muga, in whose raising the moth is allowed to freely emerge.

This fabric is our lightest weight Peace silk. It is light. airy, and as luminescent as moonlight.
Warp and weft are both smooth spun Ahimsa™ Peace silk. "Peace" silk, also called vegetarian silk, is from cocoons from which the moth has completed its transformation and emerges free and happy. For more information, read Cheryl's "About Peace Silk" article.
