A very fine silk yarn, or soft spun thread. This silk is spun of the finest quality cultivated silk. Very strong and cohesive, excellent for weaving warp, weft, lace knits, crochet, hand sewing and embellishments. This is a popular thread for Kumehimo Japanese braiding.
This is often used for quilt embellishment, embroidery, and needlepoint on 18 mesh canvass. Excellent for machine knitting. Perfect warp, sett at about 20 ends per inch. Goes very well combined with our Tussah silk 2-ply. 20/2 metric count, about 4,400 yards to the pound.

Because much of spun silk is pulled out breeder cocoons, this yarn can be considered about 50% Peace silk. The other part of spun silk fibre is the outer “floss” of the cocoons, which is very strong and lusterous. Thus this yarn-thread has a great durability and high luster.
100% natural silk, spun in Europe.
Long staple spun silk.
Hand wash, warm water, mild hand dishwashing soap or Dr. Bronner's, rinse well. Hang to dry, shake the skein to soften it while drying.
