A quality interlock knit. Extremely soft, yet durable. Perfect for all types of clothing and baby products. Interlock knits are the result of a double layer of rib knits that are knitted together, which results in a stronger, more resiliant fabric than a single knit. This knit stretches along the width of the fabric, but not along the length. Thus it won't lengthen or sag, but will stretch as the body moves. This fabric will not ravel when cut, so hems can be eliminated for baby diapers, adult diapers and other items where chafing is an issue.

So beautiful and creamy soft you will WANT to HAND WASH it. Does require to be hand washed, as machine wash will permanently stretch-shrink it. Then line dry or lay out flat on a sweater- drying screen. Alternative care is Dry Clean.
Naturally dyed at a Skal certified 100% Natural Dyeworks in India. The dyeworks has personally been visited twice by Cheryl Kolander, Master Natural Dyer and owner of Aurora Silk. Dyeworks is confirmed to be clean, healthy, open air, using only natural dyes, 100% eco, with waste water used to grow vegetables for the workers, who are all adults, and graciously happy to have such good work. Four colors currently available (which coordinate beautifully together): natural white, sage, sand (a soft pale yellow), and painted hills (an earthy mauve).
From our sewing tests, we have determined that this fabric needs to be sewn with a FINE ball point needle. Larger needles will have trouble penetrating the fabric, and therefore can cause damage. Any type of standard sewing thread (silk, cotton, or cotton/poly) works great, including Aurora Silk's Ahimsa™ Peace Silk sewing thread.
Note: The fabric has the same appearance and soft hand on both sides. That is the marvelous result of the “Interlock” method of machine knitting.
