A no-mordant colour, meaning no metal salt is used to fix the colour. This makes it an excellent first colour for people with extreme chemical sensitivities. The dye itself, Fustic, is a natural herbal immune stimulant, and the colour itself is a mood brightener!
Hand dyed in small lots. The colour is generally very even. The rich gold will lighten as it ages, then stabilizes at a soft warm yellow.
Dec 08 note: the mill that produced the extract is closed. I am now doing this colour with the Fusticwood shavings. It is brighter than previously.
