Semi sheer and exceptionally shiney, this particular tussah fabric is woven from reeled tussah, which is very rare. Being Tussah, which is a wild silk, it is remarkably strong, tough and durable for such a light weight fabric. Being reeled it is luminescently sheeny as only reeled, filament silk can be.
The colour is one of the most exceptionally masculine colours ever created. It is a classic for Japanese men's kimono. It's an off-black with hints of dusty purple, like the sky when it is almost nite, in the after-glow of a spectacular sunset. For intimate apparel it is even sexier than black-black, and acts like a frame displaying every skin tone to advantage. - Cheryl
Woven on antique looms in a small mill in India. Never perfectly regular, the variations in weave give a distinct hand-woven look to this unique fabric.
