Durable, soft, and light-weight "plain weave" with a nice luster. Woven from smooth spun (not reeled) silk. Spun yarns are mostly from the thickest fibre on the outer part of the cocoon, and from breeder cocoons, so this fabric contains some Peace silk, and is especially durable.

I have always preferred the hand of spun silk (staple silk yarns) to that of reeled silk. Fabric Information

Fibre content: 100% natural silk, cultivated Bombyx mori silk, staple spun.
Source: China
Width: 54" extra wide
Weight per linear yard: aprox 2 oz
Commonly used for: linings, light weight blouses, scarves, paint dyeing, tie-dye and dye trials. All Aurora Silk fabrics are 100% finish free and ready to dye.
Weft (width) shrinkage: 3-5%
Warp (length) shrinkage: 3-5%
Recommended care: Machine wash: gentle cycle, warm water, mild soap. Tumble dry on low heat. For smoothest finish, iron from barely damp state on "wrong" side of fabric.

(Please do not think it amiss of me to mention that virtually all other sources sell synthetic dyed colours labeled as natural dyes.
