This yarn is from India and is handspun by the unique method of softening with soap, then pulling out the fiber directly into a yarn. This handspinning produces a semi-continuous, extremely strong yarn. The overetwist makes it very strong. Since it is handspun, the yarn is not perfectly regular. Knitters who have used it praise its distinctive look and feel.

This yarn is approximately 100 yds per ounce. Use for warp (8-10 ends per inch). If used in weft as well, and set/beat open at about 6 epi, produces a sturdy crepe fabric. Great for crochet where you want to see every stitch (6-7 stitches per inch). Darker shades of beige and light brown.
