FAQ: Neem Seed Oil

Neem Seed Oil, with the active ingredient "Salinin," has been used for centuries in India as an insect repellant. Recent studies from the Malarial Research Institute of India have found that the Salinin is more effective than DEET for repelling mosquitos. Neem is used to repel wool moths, mosquitos, and insects from food crops.

Does neem oil kill all stages of the wool moth?
Neem works as an effective insecticide against wool moths, ants, termites, fleas and sand fleas, as well as flying mosquitoes and their larvae. It is considered completely non-toxic to humans, pets and livestock. It is also used as a foliar feed fertilizer, sprayed on the leaves of plants. And it is taken in small doses internally for the elimination of gut parasites.

How do you apply it?
Add ½ teaspoon neem oil to 1 cup warm water in a spray bottle. Shake and spray clothing, counters, woodwork, window and door screens, skin. Can be applied directly to the skin (recommend to dilute with pure vegetable oil at about 1 tablespoon neem oil to 4 tablespoons of oil).

Where does your oneem oil come from?
Our neem oil is pure pressed from organically grown neem trees. It is processed by a small rural co-op in the Dominican Republic, and packaged by Nicola y Cheri, Inc. Proceeds benefit rural Indigenous Caribbean Natives.
