100% hemp, raised by traditional organic methods in Eastern Europe. Spun in the United States exclusively for Aurora Silk. Has the traditional “Hemp” look but is much softer than other available twine yarns.
Has a very nice luster that is enhanced by dyeing. Takes Natural Dyes beautifully, especially Natural Indigo. (To learn to dye your hemp with Natural Indigo, see our Natural Fermentation Indigo Kit). This yarn knits well and can be used for weaving, crochet, macramé and braids. About 240 yards to the pound. Staple length is about 7".
